Álvaro Martín has won gold in the 20-kilometre walk event at the World Athletics Championships held in Budapest. The Spaniard has taken the victory after completing the race in 1 hour, 17 minutes and 32 seconds, less than a minute from the World record. The athlete also scores the first medal for Spain in the competition, which started this Saturday the 19th and will last until August 27th. The 29-year-old walker from Extremadura expands with this world gold medal a record that also includes two victories at the European Championships in Berlin 2018 and Munich 2022.
