Six arrested for a multiple sexual assault on a tourist in Magaluf

In Magaluf (Mallorca) six young people were arrested on Tuesday as alleged perpetrators of a sexual assault on an 18-year-old British woman who was on vacation on the island. They are not the first this year and are similar to known group rapes. The last one, also in the Balearic Islands, was very similar to the one that took place this past Sunday in Magaluf. In the early hours of Thursday, July 13, agents of the National Police arrested six German tourists between the ages of 21 and 23 as alleged perpetrators of a group sexual assault committed in a hotel against a woman, also German, in her 20s; Like the young British woman, she was on vacation in the Playa de Palma area, in the Balearic capital, with a group of friends. They also recorded the rape and five of them were sent to provisional prison.

Before that, the investigation of the Family and Women’s Care Unit (UFAM) of the National Police, in Madrid, for a sexual assault on a 21-year-old girl who, after voluntarily consuming a substance offered to her by the three alleged attackers and who left her asleep, was raped by those men in an apartment located in the Madrid district of Tetuán. It was Saturday May 6th. And the previous acquaintance was perpetrated on Sunday, April 9, when seven minors gang-raped two girls aged 12 and 13 in Logroño, on the ground floor of a building on Avenida de Navarra, near the old town of the capital of La Rioja. . The number of multiple assaults of which the Ministry of the Interior is aware have only grown for years. The latest report on crimes against freedom and sexual indemnity, with numbers from 2016 to 2021, reflects this rise: multiple crimes have gone from 371 that year to 573 two years ago, with a decrease only in 2020, due to confinements due to the pandemic. In that time frame (2016-2021), 2,691 were accumulated (1,829 committed by two aggressors and 862 by three or more). However, the age of these data is unknown, so far there are no statistics that break down the age of the aggressors for multiple assaults.

Yes, those of the victims are known. And for several years a stable upward trend has been maintained: sexual violence is growing the most among minors and they are the ones that each time represent a greater percentage of these victims. Minors account for half of all known victimizations: in 2021 there were 3,805 victims of sexual crimes between the ages of zero and 13, and 4,512 between the ages of 14 and 17.
