The Polish Government Security Center issued guidance on heat waves to the public via text messages and on Twitter.
Northern Poland may not be the place that comes to mind when mentioning a heat wave. However, according to the Government Security Center of that country, temperatures this week will exceed 30 degrees Celsius and probably reach 35.

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management warned of a heat wave in the southeast and central Poland. It issued a second-level warning on a three-point scale in several provinces.
Experts also warned of storms and strong winds in some areas of the country.
Authorities advise the public to “avoid physical exertion, stay home if possible, wear a hat and apply sunscreen.” They also urge citizens “not to leave children and animals in the car, avoid drinking alcohol since it dehydrates the body, close and cover the windows during the day and wear light and ventilated clothing”.
