If you use an Axis surveillance camera to recognize license plates, you should update the software for this. The manufacturer has released bug-fixed versions. In total, the developers have closed six security gaps. The software is preinstalled on some cameras.
According to a warning message, all vulnerabilities are classified as having a “high” threat level. For example, attackers can gain admin rights due to a broken access control (CVE-2023-21407). The execution of malicious code (CVE-2023-21410) is also possible. Attackers can combine vulnerabilities to take over devices completely.
The manufacturer claims to have equipped the following products with secure software:
AXIS P3245-LVE-3 AXIS OS 11.5.72 & 10.12.193 LTSAXIS P3265-LVE-3 AXIS OS 11.5.72AXIS P1445-LE-3 AXIS OS 11.5.72 & 10.12.193 LTSAXIS P1455-LE-3 AXIS OS 11.5.72 72 & 10.12.193 LTSAXIS P1465-LE-3 AXIS OS 11.5.72
Security researchers from Nozomi Networks Inc. discovered the vulnerabilities.
