“Last night, Russian terrorists attacked our ports again. They attacked our infrastructure, which ensures not our food security, but global food security. In barely a month since Russia’s attempt to destroy the Black Sea Grain Initiative, the Today was already the seventh – seventh – massive Russian attack,” declared the Ukrainian president.
The United States claimed that Russian drone strikes on Ukraine’s Danube infrastructure demonstrated that President Vladimir Putin did not care about food supplies for the developing world.
“This escalation demonstrates that Moscow continues to prevent grain and food from reaching those who need it most around the world. It is unacceptable. Putin simply does not care about global food security. Such actions by the Kremlin negatively affect Ukrainian farmers and all those around the world who are most vulnerable to food insecurity,” said Vedant Patel, spokesman for the US State Department.
Russian drone and missile strikes have hit six major ports in southern Ukraine. kyiv claims that Moscow has attacked warehouses and facilities used to export grain. For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry has repeatedly claimed that it was attacking military targets.
