Xiaomi is launching a new foldable in China. The manufacturer presents its Mix Fold 3 as particularly thin and robust: at 11 millimeters thick, it is slightly slimmer than the foldables from Samsung and the Google Pixel Fold, which measure 13 and 12 millimeters. The foldable phone weighs 255 grams. The Honor Magic V2 is a bit flatter at 10 millimeters.

The Mix Fold 3’s external OLED display is 6.56 inches in size and has a brightness of 1300 nits and a resolution of 2,520 × 1,080 pixels. The foldable inner display is 8 inches in size with 2600 nits maximum brightness and a resolution of 2,160 × 1,916 pixels. The refresh rate of both displays is 120 Hertz, which should ensure smooth scrolling.
With Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
The Mix Fold 3 has four cameras on the back: a main sensor with 50 megapixels, a 12 megapixel ultra wide-angle camera and two telephoto cameras with 10 megapixels each. The cameras come with Leica branding. Xiaomi does not make any compromises with the processor either: The Mix Fold 3 runs with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Depending on the version, the main memory is 12 or 16 GB RAM, the internal memory is at least 256 GB, the battery has a nominal charge of 4,800 mAh.

The Mix Fold 3 costs the equivalent of around 1130 euros, but has so far only been announced for Xiaomi’s home market. It is unlikely that it will come to Germany later. Previous Xiaomi foldables did not come to Europe. In this country, the selection of foldables is still quite small, because many Chinese manufacturers drive the Xiaomi line. In addition to the Pixel Fold from Google, you can buy several models from Samsung and Motorola in Germany.
There has also been speculation about a folding device from Apple for months, but such a model has not yet been announced. According to recent reports, Apple plans to launch a foldable iPad soon.
