This is suggested by a report by Hudson Rock security researchers. They claim to have compared their database, which contains 14.5 million compromised PCs, with user data from 100 cybercrime forums such as cracked.io and nulled.io. According to their own statements, they found 120,000 PCs belonging to forum members infected with Infostealer malware.
Stronger passwords than the military
Based on the other data on the computers, such as e-mail addresses and IP addresses, they can deduce the identities of the online criminals. From their results, they can also deduce that the forum account owners use stronger passwords than, for example, the military.
It is not yet known whether those affected were too lenient with their own malware and infected themselves or fell victim to another Trojan.
