Roi Haiti, the religious organization for which the nurse worked, has broken the news.
“It is with a heart full of gratitude and immense joy that we at El Roi Haiti confirm the release of our staff member and friend, Alix Dorsainvil, and her son, who were held hostage in Port-au-Prince, Haiti,” he announced in his website the religious group.
When the kidnapping took place, the US State Department already said it was in “regular contact” with the Haitian authorities to try to get the nurse and her son home as soon as possible.
