While Pedro Sánchez is still on vacation, the Popular Party has once again held a Management Committee despite the dates. After the meeting, Cuca Gamarra has defended the right of Alberto Núñez Feijóo to be a candidate for an investiture because he is the only candidate who at the moment has more than 170 supports and has once again put his “predisposition” on the table if Felipe VI is entrusts it. “We reiterate our availability. If the King entrusts us to the PP and Feijóo, the most voted, the investiture, we will fulfill our responsibility, “Gamarra said during a press conference at the Genoa 13 headquarters after the meeting of the Management Committee. The PP has tied 171 supports, which could increase by one seat throughout the week, when the popular meet with the Canary Coalition.
Gamarra wanted to emphasize that they already have secured the ‘yes’ of 171 deputies: the 137 from the PP, the 33 from Vox and the one from Unión del Pueblo Navarro. At the same time, he has advanced that in the next few days they will meet with the Canarian Coalition to tie up the support of their deputy, which would leave Feijóo to four of the absolute majority. “It places us, at least, 50 seats from where the second most voted candidate, Pedro Sánchez, is,” Gamarra compared, who has urged the socialist leader and acting head of government to congratulate them, to recognize that the PP won the elections.
The number two of the PP has indicated that her party is looking for a “broad and constitutional” agreement that, with Feijóo as president of the Government, would guarantee stability to the future of the country, which is “what Spain needs today.” The leader of the PP himself has claimed responsibility on the social network formerly known as Twitter: «After our electoral victory we worked to add support and we have 50 more than Pedro Sánchez has today. We reaffirm our availability for an investiture that gives stability to Spain, with a Government supported by legislative agreements.

three scenarios
In this context, Cuca Gamarra has drawn three possible scenarios that were opened after the 23J elections, which go through the “blockade and new elections”, that of the “reissue and expansion of Frankenstein with 24 parties” or that of the Government of the PP.
And here, he has warned that Spain cannot “allow” a new blockade of the political situation or the electoral repetition, alleging that it is currently the Presidency of the Council of the EU and to face the challenges “decisive for an economic recovery”.
“We continue working to overcome the blocks and blockades and we are going to continue working to be able to offer a constitutional response to our country, which is what the majority of Spaniards have demanded at the polls,” he defended.
Canarian Coalition
Regarding the talks and negotiations with the Canarian Coalition in exchange for their support for an investiture by Feijóo, Gamarra has advanced that they will be held in the coming days to “concrete” the definition of the Canarian agenda.
Likewise, he recalled that they already govern in coalition in the Government of the archipelago, something that he considers could facilitate reaching that agreement with the Canarian formation at the national level to add one more deputy.
And he has also pointed out that the Canary Islands Coalition has already decided to start negotiations with the PP and put aside possible conversations to support the investiture of Pedro Sánchez.
