The former Austrian foreign minister “has temporarily moved” to a Russian town. The woman who served as head of Austrian diplomacy from December 2017 to June 2019 was seen in Petrushovo, a small town about 350 kilometers southeast of Moscow, where she resides temporarily, according to the local press.

Kneissl allegedly received threats for inviting Russian President Vladimir Putin to her wedding in 2018 and even starring in a dance with him. After leaving the Austrian government, she worked as an analyst for the Russian channel RT, the propaganda arm of the Kremlin. She is also listed as director of a geopolitical observatory attached to the University of Saint Petersburg.
