Representatives of the PSN, Geroa Bai and Contigo Navarra meet this Wednesday with EH Bildu, at 09:00 am in the Parliament of Navarra, to present the programmatic agreement for the formation of the next Provincial Government.
The meeting of these three formations with EH Bildu will be held before the second round of consultations with the spokespersons designated by the parties or political groups with parliamentary representation that the president of the Parliament of Navarra, Unai Hualde, from Geroa Bai, will carry out, from at 9:30 a.m. in the office of the Presidency for the purpose of proposing, where appropriate, a candidacy for the Presidency of the Government of Navarra.
This new round of consultations obeys the commitment made by Hualde on June 28, in the sense of “reactivating the process at the moment that one or more of the parliamentary spokespersons transfers the will to appear for the investiture”, as The general secretary of the PSN, María Chivite, has done this Tuesday.
In accordance with the stipulated order, from lowest to highest parliamentary representation, the president will begin the round of consultations with the Vox delegation (09:30). Then, with an interval of 15 minutes, Unai Hualde will consecutively receive the interlocutors from Contigo Navarra (09:45), PPN, (10:00), Geroa Bai (10:15), EH Bildu (10:30), PSN (10:45) and UPN (11:00).
Once the consultations have been carried out, the president of Parliament will appear before the media, in the Multipurpose Room, to announce his intention to formalize María Chivite’s will to submit to the investiture plenary session, which according to the Regulations must be convened with at least three days in advance.
Chivite communicated on Tuesday to the president of the Parliament of Navarra his willingness to appear for the investiture, thus materializing the “commitment” transferred on the occasion of the first round of consultations, at the conclusion of which (June 28) Hualde stated that he was not yet willing to propose a candidacy for the Presidency of the Foral Community.
The proposal of the socialist candidate and current acting president is the result of the programmatic agreement that, including the structure of the coalition government, signed Tuesday at parliamentary headquarters Chivite, Uxue Barkos (Geroa Bai) and Begoña Alfaro (Contigo Navarra). In total, 21 supports for an investiture that requires an absolute majority in the first vote (at least 26 votes in favor) and a simple majority in the second.
For his inauguration, Chivite will need at least the abstention of EH Bildu (9 seats), which would give him a simple majority of more votes in favor than against, since UPN (15), PP (3) and Vox (3) will foreseeably reject it. 2).
