Calendar week 37 – and probably September 12th or 13th: This date for the next iPhone keynote has been rumored for a few days. Bloomberg author Mark Gurman is now more or less committed: “The signs are increasingly pointing to September 12”, he announced on Tuesday evening on X. Things could only change “theoretically”, he continued.
Present it on Tuesday, have it ordered on Friday
September 12 would be a Tuesday, making it Apple’s traditional favorite day for such events, although last year it became a Wednesday due to a US holiday. For example, Apple could take September 15 (Friday) as the start of pre-orders for the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max and then ship the first devices the following week (Friday, September 22) for the first time. This would leave the group with a good week of sales in this quarter.
In addition to at least four new iPhones – plus possibly two legacy models retrofitted with USB-C – at least two new Apple Watch models in different colors are expected. It is unclear whether they will appear in the same way. It is also conceivable that Apple will not release all iPhones immediately, but certain models later. Last year, the iPhone 14 Plus only came out in October.
Keynote again only as a video – with guests
The format of the keynote, which Apple has not changed since the Corona period, will probably remain the same: the manufacturer is planning another hybrid event. In the presence of important Apple managers in Cupertino, guests will be shown a video that Internet users will also be able to see. After that there will probably be hands-on encounters with the new hardware again.

It is unlikely that Apple will hold its keynote live again at some point – pandemic or not. With the video format, the group has significantly more control over the presentation, can record sequences step by step, insert and/or exchange blocks. There are no technical problems. However, the famous keynote feeling hardly comes up, as it also lived from the fact that there were also amusing fails on stage.
