The alleged murderer is Daniel Sancho, 29, the son of well-known Spanish actor Rodolfo Sancho.
The first remains of Colombian Edwin Arrieta, a 44-year-old plastic surgeon murdered and dismembered on the Thai island, have been found in a landfill on Koh Phangan. The police recovered between Thursday and Friday parts of the body and head that have allowed them to identify the body.

He has been detained since Friday after an interrogation in which he confessed to being guilty of killing and dismembering the victim.
The young man, who entered the island as a tourist on July 31, met Arrieta two days later. They had met before through social media. It was the following night, August 3, when Sancho reported the disappearance of the Colombian.
According to the police report, he had bought knives and garbage bags on his first day in Thailand.
This Monday Sancho was transferred to the Koh Samui prison, in the south of the country, after provisional detention was decreed for him, at least until his trial begins. He has said that he wants to cooperate with the investigation in any way that he can.
The family lawyer will meet the young man in prison on Tuesday. She is the only person who will be able to visit him in the next ten days of isolation due to the Covid-19 protocol.
