Hundreds of supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan took to the streets in Pakistan. They protest the sentence to three years in prison against their political leader, found guilty of corruption by the High Court of Islamabad.

He is accused, among other things, of embezzling budgets and profiting from the sale of assets he received as head of government.
Khan was first arrested in May, but there were mass protests across the country and he was granted bail.
This Saturday, August 5, the former president was arrested again.
Khan’s party, Pakistan Justice Movement, has appealed the sentence. It is the largest opposition force in the country.
Pakistan plans to hold elections later this year. The current prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif, has announced his intention to dissolve the National Assembly on August 9.
