Storms and floods in Northern Europe continue to wreak havoc. Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Latvia are on alert.
Heavy rains in eastern Sweden have caused damage to cities and roads and even a train derailment where three people were injured.

The Susaback River, which runs through the center of the country, overflowed its banks, causing severe flooding. The Swedish meteorological agencies foresee that the flooded areas will multiply.
Dozens of people have been evacuated in both Sweden and neighboring Norway. The extreme rains caused in Norway by the storm “Hans” have forced the cancellation of flights and the closure of some roads.
The consequences of storm Hans have also been felt in Denmark, with gusts of wind disrupting rail, air and sea traffic. Dozens of holidaymakers from the Danish west coast had to leave the area when the beach houses were washed away by the ocean.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the Baltic, Latvia continues to endure weather more like autumn than summer. A violent storm severely damaged crops and some houses in the Dobele township, with trees falling on roads and roofs torn off.
