The German Apple developer meeting Macoun has existed since 2008. It’s the biggest event for iOS, iPadOS and macOS developers in Europe – and now it’s finally back in September. After a call for papers, the creators of Macoun have now presented their program for this year for the first time. They also discussed current developments such as generative AI and Apple’s new mixed reality headset Vision Pro.

Event on September 23rd and 24th
This year’s Macoun will take place on September 23rd and 24th – i.e. Saturday and Sunday – in the Haus der Jugend in Frankfurt, where you can also stay overnight if you wish. There will be a total of 18 sessions and workshops over the two days, selected by the jury at the CFP. “Artificial intelligence and the development for the Apple Vision Pro are very popular alongside security issues,” say the organizers.
Other central topics are the use of AirTags and other trackers, including the question of their data protection aspects, the new smart home standard Matter and its integration into HomeKit, including the thread, and neural networks. “In addition, the participants have the opportunity to learn survival strategies for legacy hell (i.e. ensuring compatibility with older devices, editor’s note) or tips and tricks for Xcode in practice-oriented workshops,” write the Macoun makers .
What the Macoun 2023 costs
There will be three ticket categories for Macoun 2023. Companies pay 249 euros plus sales tax, single tickets are available for 189 euros gross. Students, trainees and pupils plus anyone under the age of 21 who is interested can take part for 99 euros. Registration ends on September 19, but tickets may sell out before then.
The developer meeting starts at 11 a.m. on both days, and there will also be a party on Saturday evening. Mac & i Pro will have a booth at the event. Details on booking an overnight stay directly at the Haus der Jugend – which is recommended by the organizers – can be found online. The event is also considered an “unofficial job forum” for Apple developers.
