To keep its products fresh, Apple tends to give them new colors – even if the actual design changes only marginally. In 2023, the Apple Watch seems to be affected again, as a leaker who was right in the past announced this week on X. At least two model series are affected.

Second color for the first time on the Apple Watch Ultra?

Apple is said to be planning to offer the Apple Watch Ultra, a second edition of which is expected in September, in a new finish. The exterior design remains the same, but in addition to the standard variant in gray titanium A “Black Titanium” variant is also planned, writes leaker “ShrimpApplePro”. Black-grey titanium is not a new Apple Watch color from Apple, so the Apple Watch Series 6 was already offered in a “Space Black” version.

According to a Bloomberg report, Apple is said to have already experimented with a corresponding finish on the first Ultra, but then only decided on one color. Anyone who already has bracelet accessories in “Space Gray” should be happy about the new finish, which may go well with it.

Matching Barbie: Apple Watch Series 9 in pink

Following the current “Barbie” trend, Apple is planning according to a second post by ShrimpApplePro, an Apple Watch Series 9 in pink. The color is to be offered in parallel with the current aluminum variants, midnight, polar star, silver and red. Here, too, the old design is otherwise retained, the sizes are still 41 and 45 mm. The stainless steel colors are said to remain gold, silver and graphite with no additional color. Finally, the leaker speculates that Apple could make the Series 9 case smaller. Apple has been following this trend for a long time, also to save on logistics costs.

The Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 should continue to receive a new system-in-package (SiP) – and for the first time in years with significantly more power. According to Bloomberg, the S9 will be based on the A15 Bionic SoC from the iPhone 13. Apple is always reluctant to update its processors in the Watch and rarely uses their performance as a selling point for the latest model.
