The World Scout Jamboree, in which some 43,000 young people from 158 countries participate, is one of the biggest annual events of the youth camping movement.
South Korea has been forced to evacuate tens of thousands of scouts gathered for a world congress due to the threat of a typhoon in the area.

As confirmed by the authorities on Monday, this year the event will come to an end earlier than expected due to the approach of Typhoon Khanun.
The South Korean government is drawing up a “contingency plan” to relocate scouts to and around Seoul. For now, attendees have been temporarily rehoused in community rooms and educational facilities. More than 1,000 vehicles have been mobilized to transport the adolescents.
Typhoon Khanun brought heavy rain and gusty winds to Japan last week. It is expected to arrive in South Korea on Thursday, after days of intense heat that had already forced thousands of young people to leave the camp.
