The Civil Guard put an end to the Risitas gang and confiscated a ton of cocaine in Algeciras. Investigators have arrested 30 people, practically the entire group except for the ringleader who ran the network from prison, and have seized more than 1,000 kilos of cocaine in 23 house searches in the Cadiz towns of algeciras, San Roque y the neighborhoods. Among those arrested are two workers Port of Algeciras and numerous truckers who entered the port under the cover of their daily work in order to gain access to the containers that brought the drugs inside.
The operation started in September 2022 with the participation of the Command of Algeciras and the Central Operating Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard. It was then that the investigators detected a group of truckers from the same trucking company. algeciras that they could take advantage of the advantages that their work offered them to enter the port terminals and extract cocaine hidden inside the containers.
A fact that they confirmed in December 2022, when they were seized at the exit of the Port of algeciras of 500 kilos of cocaine in nine suitcases hidden in the cabin of a truck. In that performance, this trucker and five other people who were traveling in another truck that accompanied the first one were arrested. The function of the second truck was to transport “the gang” of porters who were in charge of opening the container in the terminal, taking out the suitcases with the cocaine and introducing them into the first truck.
This police intervention made it possible to identify the leaders of the network, at the top of which was a well-known Spanish drug trafficker, The Giggles, already arrested during the investigation and admitted to a Valencian prison. With him fell two of his operations, personnel and logistics lieutenants. One of these underbosses frequently visited the capo in prison to plan operations.
The gang always worked the same: two trucks entered the port, one of them with a hidden collar that jumped when it reached the drug container, put it in bags and took it to the other truck. All guarded by a network of water carriers who warned of the movements of the security forces. The detainees had uniforms from the stowage and unstowage society of the port.
Finally, the investigators ambushed the drug traffickers in the port, knowing that they were going to enter for a shipment: thus, two trucks were intercepted, one of which was transporting other trucks. 500 kilos of cocaine in the cabin, while the necklace was hidden in the other.

In the last two months, the Civil Guard has dismantled two other gangs that were dedicated to introducing into spain cocaine from South America in containers that arrived at the port of Algeciras. At the beginning of March, 15 people were arrested for introducing two tons of cocaine by this means, and in April the so-called Farruku clan, led by Kreshnik Budlla, Niko, who has several indictments and who is currently on the run from justice, was dismantled.
