The Spring Festival arrives in Alicante and in a big way; It is the most important musical event in the capital of the province and, year after year, it surpasses itself to offer on Friday, May 26, and Saturday, May 27, a line-up that includes Leiva, Lori Meyers, Fangoria, Shinova, Two Door Cinema or ElyElla, among others. The forecasts of the organizers, Baltimore Productions, cannot be better, 8 million euros of impact on the local economy.
It should not be forgotten that in the last edition the baptized as tanganazo took place, due to the performance of C. Tangana; A direct consequence of the boom that his show brought about is that this year 22,000 spectators are expected per day, compared to 16,000 in the last edition. Unstoppable, the organizers have expanded the space of the concert venue by 8,000 square meters in order to have greater capacity and greater comfort.
Alicante is thus consolidating as a destination for musical tourism; that is to say, a city that receives visitors attracted by concerts and, thanks to them, discover its beaches, gastronomy and cultural offer. In fact, of those attending the Sring Festival, more than 78% are from outside the city of Alicante and more than 61% from other provinces, mainly Madrid, Murcia, Valencia and Barcelona. The reason, the commissioning of low-cost high-speed trains, according to the organizers.
At the gates of the Spring Festival, more than 90% of tickets have already been sold. “We want it to be noticed that it is a festival from here, from the city”, assures José Piñero, from Baltimore Producciones. A festival, he adds, so that they come to visit us from different parts of Spain and so that the people of Alicante have a reason to leave home.
Other musical appointments of the summer
Continuing with the great musical events, in August it is the turn of the Boombastic; festival that the city of Alicante has taken from Benidorm. In this case, the setting is Area 12, in the port, in the eastern area, and the dates are August 17, 18 and 19. The poster includes artists such as Bizarrap, Bad Gyal or Danny Ocean, among many others. Also in summer the concerts of the Alicante Live the roof cycle are held.
Also in the Plaza de Toros, and as part of the Alicante Goldest Legends Concerts program, Bob Dylan, Miguel Ríos, Tom Jones, Pablo Alborán, Manuel Carrasco, Vanesa Martín or Gypsi Kings will perform between June and September.
