Amazon is launching several new or revised products on the German market, including new versions of the Echo Auto and Echo Show 5. Recent presentations also include the smart speaker Echo Pop, which is priced at about the same level as the current Echo Dot models.

The new version of Echo Auto is already available in the USA and is now coming to Germany. Compared to the previous model, the second generation is more compact and, according to Amazon, offers more flexibility for installation in the car. The gadget is also intended for hands-free communication when driving. To do this, the Echo Auto must be supplied with power on the one hand and connected to the car’s audio system via Bluetooth or a jack cable on the other. Finally, the gadget is connected to the cell phone via Bluetooth. You can then use voice commands to play music or make calls. The new version of Echo Auto is available on Amazon from Wednesday and costs 70 euros
Echo Show 5 in Kids-Variante
The second new edition concerns the Echo Show 5, Amazon’s smart display with a 5-inch screen. Inside the new variant, Amazon’s self-designed ARM processor AZ2 is used, which makes the device work 20 percent faster than the previous model. Amazon also promises improvements in music playback: the bass is said to have been doubled, and the microphone system is said to be more accurate.
The new Echo Show 5 costs 110 euros on Amazon – a massive price increase compared to the previous model released in 2021, which currently only costs 70 euros. For the first time, Amazon is also offering a kids’ version of the Echo Show 5 in Germany, which includes one year’s access to Amazon’s Kids+ subscription service and costs 120 euros.

Echo Pop for 55 euros
The smart speaker Echo Pop is completely new to the Amazon portfolio. This is a new form factor within the Echo family that fires sound directionally – most other Echo speakers try to play music in all directions. According to Amazon, the Echo Pop is particularly suitable for bedrooms or other small rooms.
In terms of price, the Echo Pop is at the lower end of the Echo speakers: It costs 55 euros and is therefore slightly cheaper than the current version of the Echo Dot, which is available for 65 euros. The smaller third generation of the Echo Dot, which is still available, is even cheaper than the Echo Pop. It currently costs 50 euros. A wall mount for Echo Pop is sold separately.
